Summary
- Provide or exceed customer satisfaction in all aspects of landscape maintenance and installation
- Responsible for quality control on the job per Broccolo standards and procedures
Reports to
- Landscape Field Supervisor
Qualifications
- Associates degree plus 1 year field experience and/or Three years landscape field experience with commercial and residential accounts. Must be proficient in customer service, and all components of landscape maintenance and installation with an emphasis on ornamental pruning.
- Maintain a clean, valid NYS driver’s license, and CNLP certification, DEC certification optional
- ISA certification preferred, but not required
Duties and Responsibilities
Communication:
- Communicate with customers in a timely manner and respond to their questions regarding work completed or in progress
- Check call log and email daily and return customer calls the day they were received
- Accountable for customer relations through communication skills, written or verbal
- Call customer and salesperson ahead with tentative schedule and keep updated
- Communicate with Project Manager and designers as larger projects progress
Scheduling:
- Monitor upcoming schedule of jobs –
- Look ahead to review instructions and drawings
- Review the scope of the job with sales representative
- Determine material and equipment needs
- Familiarize for best strategy and route to complete jobs efficiently
- Responsible to complete all jobs within the time frame and budget set by salesperson
- Be sure utility stake outs, excavations, equipment rentals, turf paint, round-up, materials etc. have been arranged in time to accommodate start date of job
- Identify subcontractor needs so jobs can be coordinated and scheduled
Crews:
- Assist in training crew members, assign tasks on job site, and set the pace to maintain production schedule
- Monitor progress and performance of crew members and review weekly with supervisor
- Ensure crew members know all safety procedures for equipment and follow them, report any issues to Field Supervisor
Trucks/Tools/Equipment and Safety:
- Responsible for all tools, perform basic maintenance to equipment as needed, report broken or missing tools, and track equipment that is in for repair
- Handle truck, equipment and tools safely, maintain cleanliness and care in usage, storage and transport
- Proficient on operating all necessary equipment and machinery properly and safely
- Schedule any oil changes or vehicle maintenance at the appropriate times
- Load trucks for jobs the night prior
Individual
- Mentor with Landscape Field Supervisor to build on customer service skills, crew management and horticultural knowledge
- Maintain production and sales goals established and ensure profitability on jobs
- Understand and implement design layout and proper planting per plan following ISA and CNLP specifications
- Landscape Foremen to be proficient in all aspects of specialty ornamental hand pruning, shearing, perennial garden clean-ups, edging/mulching, tree excavations and removing girdling roots according to ISA, CNLP and BTLC standards
- Record times, dates, and all related project costs on paperwork and log sheets. Submit all paperwork & receipts daily.
- Keep informed and aware of active pest and disease problems throughout the growing season and report to IPM Supervisor when something is noticed
- Identify sales needs and promote IPM after care and maintenance
- Assist in other departments as needed

Work Environment
- Work is required in inclement weather (i.e. rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.), exception: lightning storms, excessive heat, excessive cold. Conditions to be evaluated as needed and approved by Field Supervisor.
Compensation
- Hourly wage based on experience time and a half for overtime, full time year round position as sales and production pressures dictate
- Vacation Pay after one year of work, as outlined in Employee Handbook
- Eligible for Holiday Pay as outlined by management

- 401K Investment Program, eligible after one full year, 100% vesting after five years
