An active educator, Laurie teaches association seminars and an annual turfgrass course at Cornell. She has been a regular panelist on WXXI's former weekly television program "New York Lawn and Garden."

Laurie authored a chapter on how to promote healthy trees and lawns while reducing pesticide use in Integrated Pest Management for Turf and Ornamentals, published by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Laurie is one of several environmentalists asked by the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper to be a contributor to their RocEarth Blog, "Rochester's Guide to Going Green."
